Machos: cálice truncado ou ligeiramente 4-5-dentado, corola até 8mm, sinosoidal, 4-5-lobada.
Fêmeas:cálice truncado ou 1-2-dentado, corola até 5mm, afunelada 3-5-lobada. Fruto: oblongo ou ovóide, até 9x5mm laranja-avermelhado até amarelo. Originário da Nova Zelândia.
O exemplar feminino de Monserrate germinou no rizoma de um Dicksonia squarosa importado da Nova-Zelândia, que viria a morrer. Identificado a 25 de Março de 2009.

Shrub, erect, to 3m. Branches and branchlets spreading, glabrous. Leaves to 13x5cm, many, opposite, elliptic to elliptic-oblong or obovate, acute or obtuse at apex, narrowed at base, recurverd at margin, leathery, glabrous, lustrous and dark green above, pale beneath; petioles to 5 cm, flowers short-peduncled, many, in dense axillary clusters; peduncles simple or 3-branched, to 15mm.
Males: calice cupshaped, truncate or minutely 4-5-toothed, corola to 8mm, bell-shaped, 4-5-lobed.
Females: calice truncate or 1-2-toothed, corola to 5mm, funnel-shaped 3-5-lobed. Fruit: oblong or ovoid, to 9x5mm orange-red to yellow. From New Zealand.
